Terra Race conquers Migration Gravel Race
Dust rises like warm mist. Beyond, the savannah stretches toward open skies, and shadows slowly dissolve with the dawn in the Maasai Mara. Everything around this race is magnificent, raw, primal.
Migration Gravel Race 2025 has come to an end in this breathtaking land of Kenya. Once again, the four stages have proven that gravel racing, at least in this format, has moved beyond only exploration and adventure to become a high-level competition. We strive to be at the center of this transformation with OOLAB paving the way.
The way Terra Race—still unpublished and secret—fresh out of our lab, has taken over Migration Gravel Race is undeniable. In the men’s race, it was the undisputed star. Lukas Baum and Lawrence Naesen from the Orbea team delivered a memorable performance riding the new bike. Between them, they claimed all four stages: Baum won the first and third and took the overall; Naesen secured victory in stages two and four.
Lukas Baum, solid and consistent, set the pace from the opening stage, pushing the race alongside Hans Becking through the wind-torn vegetation. After a crash on stage three, he quickly recovered and went on to win solo. His overall victory was the result of flawless strategy and a Terra Race that turned every pedal stroke into this well-earned victory.
Meanwhile, Lawrence Naesen showed his hunter’s instinct on the faster stages. He was the strongest on the grueling queen stage and sealed a brilliant performance with an unstoppable sprint against Bernard Ngdungu on the final day.
Migration is no ordinary race, there’s no room for half-measures or false modesty.
Terra Race has not only delivered the competitive performance it promised, it dominated in Kenya. With riders who know how to read the terrain and a bike designed to redefine the boundaries of competitive gravel, the result speaks for itself.
