How We Roll Ep. 3: Refine the process – Orbea FMD Racing
When competition returns, there is no margin for error. The pace rises, the pressure multiplies, and the only thing that matters is being ready. The first race after the break is never just another one: it marks the moment when all the work accumulated is put to the test.
That first result goes beyond the standings. It encapsulates months and years of decisions, fine-tuning, and shared trust. Every descent and every detail reflect a process built quietly, one that finds its true meaning on the track.
Martin Maes has been a key part of that process. More than just competing, he has helped set the direction of the project. His reading of each course, his sensitivity on the bike, and his high self standards have turned ideas into performance and raised the standard of the entire team.
The road was not an easy one. There were doubts and moments of uncertainty, but every obstacle brought valuable learning. Until, in Les Gets, an unexpected podium confirmed that the process was heading in the right direction. It was no coincidence, but the result of constant work and shared ambition.
From that point on, the challenge was to keep refining. Every detail mattered, and the team responded as one: riders, mechanics, engineering, and managers aligned to extract the maximum potential from the project.
In the end, results do matter, but they are not everything. What endures is trust, the strength of the team, and the knowledge built race after race. A learning process that does not remain confined to a single discipline, but drives everything we do and reinforces the belief that, when everything comes together, the impossible ceases to be so.
