A Dream Debut for the New Oiz
The new Oiz was born from a dual ambition: to continue evolving a bike that had already established itself as a benchmark in Cross Country, while taking another step forward to meet the demands of a sport that never stops evolving.
The Speed of Leogang
The first major milestone came in Leogang. In one of the most explosive and demanding formats on the calendar, Simon Andreassen secured the first victory for the new Oiz by winning the UCI World Cup XCC. Short Track demands acceleration, precision, and the ability to respond constantly to pace changes. It is a discipline where gaps are measured in seconds and every detail matters.
Simon’s result was backed up by a strong team performance. Rebecca Henderson crossed the line in fifth place, while Jennifer Jackson finished ninth, confirming the bike’s caliber in one of the fastest and most demanding arenas in world-class Cross-Country racing.
Conquering the Dolomites
While Leogang was decided at maximum intensity, Italy presented a completely different challenge. HERO Dolomites is one of the most prestigious and demanding marathon races in the world, where endurance and race management are just as important as speed.
There, David Valero rode the new Oiz to victory in an iconic setting for international mountain biking. It was a win with special significance, marking the first time a full-suspension bike had ever won the race. A milestone that speaks both to the evolution of Cross Country and to the ability of this platform to perform at the highest level, even in the most demanding challenges.
The Confirmation of a Vision
Victories are always important, but some carry a deeper meaning because they demonstrate something beyond the result itself.
Winning the shortest and most explosive format in Cross Country, and doing the same in one of the world’s toughest and most prestigious marathon races during the same weekend, means far more than adding two victories to the tally. It demonstrates that the vision behind the new Oiz was the right one: to create a bike to rise to any challenge and take you further.
