We’ve all heard the lyrics before: “It’s the final countdown!” And that countdown is something to celebrate as COVID-19 cases start to decline as a result of social distancing.
We decided to extend the #Orbea500Challenge by two more weeks (until May 9) for one last effort to win big prizes.
Gear up for competitive challenges, and don’t get dropped by the exhaustion. We’re tackling some of the best cycling races with our sites on smashing records.
Here’s to going big in the fourth round of the Orbea Indoor 500 Challenge.
WINNERS
Participants from the last round of the Orbea 500 Indoor Challenge competed in honor of the Spring Classics on Orbea’s Strava club. Winners from the third round are:
-An Orbea kit for Mateusz Baranowski and Eugenio Milano, for completing the París-Roubaix and Lieja-Bastogne-Lieja races.
-An Orbea Factory Team kit for Aitor Ugalde, for more than 295 minutes of physical activity from April 14-22.
-An Orbea kids bike for Ander Txakartegi, for sharing a photo of their activity alongside their child.
–Orbea casual apparel for Cycloklops, for sharing an original video.
Patrice Betbeder, Łukasz Michalski and Alejandro García also received “flash” awards, taking home a pack of Orbea casual apparel, a Muc-Off high-pressure washer and an Orbea hat, respectively.
We would also like to mention the prizes of our second solidarity auction placed on eBay to raise funds in support of UNICEF’s emergency campaign against COVID-19. The auction included a pack of Euskaltel-Euskadi gear and the winner was Chhay Launh, the proceeds of the final bid will be sent entirely to UNICEF.
CHALLENGES AND ELITE COMPETITIONS
Remember: you have until May 9 to participate in the fourth round of the Orbea Indoor Challenge. Head to our group on Strava, where you can hit the start button on new challenges that embrace high-level races…and new prizes to go along with them.
We’ll award prizes to those who complete the following challenges:
–Enduro World Series (EWS) Challenge. It took Orbea Fox Enduro Team rider Vid Persak 54m 27s to place fifth when EWS visited Slovenia, his home country. Complete an activity for that exact duration of time. For those who meet that goal, we’ll send you an Orbea cycling kit (MTB or road).
–Mikel Nieve Giro d’Italia 2011. We’re reliving Mike Nieve’s epic stage victory between Conegliano and Gardeccia / Val di Fassa. The Euskaltel-Euskadi racer needed only 7h 27m to cover the 229km distance with more than 6,000m of altitude change. Your challenge is to pedal on the roller until you reach that exact time. Complete all 7h 27m and we’ll send you a pack of casual apparel.
–Italy 2020 Giro Challenge. If held, this year’s Giro would measure 3,579.8km long. Your goal is to complete 15% of that distance (537km). Check it off your list and we’ll send you an Orbea Factory Team kit.
Instagram and Facebook challenges:
-We’ll award a pack of casual apparel to participants who share a photo or video of their family activity.
-We’ll award a pack of Orbea casual apparel to participants who upload the most original video or photo.
We’ll also continue to award “flash” prizes to participants who take our “Quizzes” on Instagram and hit specific milestones in their training sessions.
We’ll announce the list of fourth-round winners on May 12.
