Orca OMR and Rallon continue to receive excellent reviews around the world

The best reviews of the month have come from the United States and the United Kingdom. To start with, Velo News gave our Orca Aero a score of 91.2/100 in its 2018 Buyer’s Guide, highlighting its speed and versatility:“The Orca Aero would be a top contender for a sprint stage, but it won't be disadvantaged on the climbs. Yes, the bike is heavier than most climbing-specific bikes, but it remains respectably lively. On high-speed descents, its quick steering and overall stability are exceptional,”.

The British website Road.cc paid tribute to the speed, manageability, and smoothness of our most aerodynamic bike, giving the Orca Aero a score of 4/5.In his verdict, David Arthur defines it as “A fast aero bike with great handling and decent smoothness.”

The Orca, our best bike for climbers, has also received a very positive review on the Australian website Cyclingtips:“The Orca is a superb climber whose only limitation when the road heads skyward is the ability of its rider. Performs better than ever. Ultra-rigid and enviably lightweight.” James Huang, the author of the review, argues that with this evolution, our top of the road range model “is an anonymous player no longer; it can legitimately go toe-to-toe with the best out there in terms of stiffness-to-weight, and its sleeper status arguably makes it more appealing than ever.”

Rallon: power unleashed

But if there is a bike that month after month receives the most enthusiastic reviews, it is the Rallon. This time, it came from the guys at Dirt Mountainbike ,who stressed the speed and fun provided by our enduro machine:“Straight out of the box this bike is a weapon! Built to go fast and eat up the terrain. There is a real feeling of quality to the frame on this bike, with a great stiffness flex balance and no harsh feeling over the high-frequency bumps as we often find with some carbon bikes”.

It’s also an ideal model to discover the winding trails of the Basque coast, as readers of Canadian Cycling Magazine saw this month, thanks to this excellent report by Steve Thomas.

Katu: compact and fun

Among the top models was our most urban and versatile e-Bike: the Katu. Analyzed by the British website Ebiketips, editor Dave Atkinson highlights just how fun it is, its manageability and the smoothness of the motor assistance. “There’s a lot to like about the Katu range of bikes. The small wheels make them compact and easy to store, and the luggage options are really good. This hub-motor version certainly isn’t as powerful as the Bosch-equipped Katu e30 that we reviewed last year, but it should be plenty for most riding, and the motor is very quiet and mostly smooth in its application of power,” he concludes.

Orbea Enduro Team and Orbea Factory Team: full speed ahead!

The Enduro World Series is underway! The Orbea Enduro Team has competed at the top level in Chile and Colombia, obtaining two Top-10 Elite finishes, thanks to Becky Cook and a sixth place in the Sub-21 by Javier San Román. You can read the summaries of both races on our blog, including the exciting debut in Chile and the muddy hell that the team experienced in the EWS in Colombia.

The Orbea Factory Team, in turn, gave it their all in the Cape Epic, their greatest competitive challenge of the season and one of the toughest on the MTB calendar. The great effort made by Ibon Zugasti and Alberto Losada was closely followed by our entire community:  the 8 stage summary videos received a total of 612,000 (!) views on our YouTube channel.
