GABI AND EDGAR, AN EXPLOSIVE MIXTURE IN THE ORBEA FOX ENDURO TEAM

We introduce you to Gabriel Torralba and Edgar Carballo. Both make up the Spanish National Team. An explosive mixture of youth and experience that are going to give plenty to talk about in the new Orbea Fox Enduro Team. We share their impressions with a view to the season that’s about to commence.

GABI TORRALBA

“I want to win the European Enduro Series”

Gabriel Torralba, along with Edgar Carballo, make up the Orbea Fox Enduro Team Spanish National Team for this new season. He will be the team ambassador in the European Enduro Series, as well as in the events on the Spanish calendar.

Gabi (22 years old), he defines himself as the most consistent cyclist: “I’m always out training, working, learning…It’s turned into an obsession and it almost always helps me to achieve my targets”.

In his case, the target is to revalidate his title of Spanish Enduro Champion. If he were to win again, it would be six in a row. A remarkable feat for this young rider, who’s been in the team structure since its beginning, in 2018.

“This season -he adds- I’m going to compete in the European Enduro Series also striving to win the overall general classification”. Very honest. “Plus -he points out- I’ll do the best I can in the Enduro World Series”.

Just like his teammates, Gabriel highlights the great atmosphere within the team. “From the start -he says-, you could breathe a very family like environment. All riders will focus on their own races, but we’ll also compete in some together. I think it’s a very competitive team where we can all learn from each other. The great results will come, I’ve no doubt”.

Gabriel Torralba’s Track Record

  • 1 st in the Spanish Enduro Open: 2018
  • 1 st in the Spanish Under-23 Enduro Championship: 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016 and 2015

EDGAR CARBALLO

A “powerful” biker

Edgar Carballo (31 years old) is Orbea Fox Enduro Team’s new addition, along with Damien Oton. Together with Gabi Torralba they make up the Spanish National Team. In Edgar’s case, 2020 is an incentive due to his debut in the European Enduro Series.

Edgar se define como “un corredor bastante regular y un superapasionado de este deporte”. Anteriormente, competía como rider de descenso, por lo que “las zonas complicadas técnicamente” constituyen su hábitat natural.

Edgar defines himself as “a fairly regular rider and very passionate about this sport”. He previously competed as a downhill rider, consequently “the technically tough areas” are his natural habitat.

He is a “powerful” rider, and that’s how his teammates define him. He’s a two-time champion of the Spanish Downhill Open BTT (2018 and 2019), he came in tenth in the European Downhill (2019) and second in the Spanish Enduro Championship (2019).

Just like his teammates, Edgar stresses the importance of the team. “I think the main thing -he ensures- is that we be one family for everything to run smoothly. And with this, I believe it will be easy for us to convey a good brand image, get good results and be mediatic.

“I’m going to give everything I have in each race”, he affirms. A statement of intent that we all endorse.
