OMX FRAME SHAPES
Not many bike companies have the research and development capabilities of an Engineering School at their fingertips. Orbea works directly with specialists at Mondragon University in the Basque Country to analyze and test aerodynamic concepts.
The downtube, seat tube and seat stay sections of the new Orca are ovalized and subtly flattened for a 10% drag reduction over the previous version.

OMR FRAME SHAPES NEW
The OMR frame targets rounded shapes that improve compliance and reduce weight, making the OMR ideal for riders seeking a smooth and efficient ride quality. The layup and dynamic structure gives a compliance and vibration absorption 5% better that the previous OMR and 10% higher than the current OMX.
The round 27.2mm seat post is significantly more comfortable than 30.9 or 31.6mm diameters, improving smoothness in the saddle without sacrificing frame stiffness at the bottom bracket.

STIFFNESS
95-105NM STIFFNESS The large majority of torsional and lateral loads are handled by the lower spine of the frame. The headtube, downtube and chainstays resist twisting and transmit power to the rear wheel. There is no doubt about it, resistance to flex in the bottom of the frame translates directly to more watts to the wheel and a sensation that power transfer is instantaneous.
SMOOTHNESS
Lowered seat stays and optimized carbon structure and tubing shapes are elemental to building a comfortable frame that helps reduce muscle fatigue, and comfort makes you faster. The natural flex patterns created by the carbon layup and minimal bulk of the top tube and seat stays deliver a dynamic, smooth ride that feels like floating over rough roads.

Orca Racing Geometry is born from almost 100 years of designing road racing bikes and is the perfect balance of responsiveness and stability. The position is aggressive to maximize body aerodynamics and efficiency. Handling is precise and intuitive. Angles and dimensions are considered carefully across a range of sizes to put more power to the road with every pedal stroke, and more power means more speed.

Orca is designed to fit humans of all shapes and sizes. It’s important to realize that women should receive the same expert bike-fitting advice as men and a custom fit for a rider of any shape is easily accommodated with MyO component selection.

ADAPTABLE ERGONOMICS
How can ergonomics help you ride further? Unlike a racing position that is focused on aerodynamics, an endurance position results in a bike that is easier to ride and increases stamina. A shorter cockpit and higher handlebar maximize rider comfort – and more comfort means longer and faster rides.

Compared to a standard compact road bar, the 20mm rise and 10mm shorter reach dimensions of the OC Rise Handlebar replicate the geometry of an Endurance bike but keep the overall frame performance that made Orca famous. Choose an OC Rise handlebar or OC Compact handlebar and of course stem length – all available through MyO – and personalize an Orca perfect for you.

ICR PLUS
Internal Cable Routing is carefully guided along the best path under the stem and through the head tube, with no rub or rattle, and is optimized for both traditional and electronic shifting systems. Proprietary headset spacers smooth airflow and offer easy adjustment. The entire Orbea road line offers this clean solution with OC Integrated stems and cable covers.
STEM AND COMPUTER MOUNT
The OC2 and OC1 stems of the new Orca are light and stiff thanks to the oversized construction. A cable channel underneath guides under the stem into the headset spacers, the OC2 stem adds a size-specific cable cover.
The faceplate of the stem is compatible with an integrated computer mounting platform. Attach a computer or remove the mount for the ultimate clean appearance.


HIDDEN CLAMP
Orca’s seat post clamp is integrated smoothly into the frame, decreasing the likelihood of contamination and increasing aerodynamics. Of course, it looks great too. Just one of the small details that make Orca smart and beautiful.

Modern road riders have discovered the advantages of bigger tires – A wider tire inflated to lower pressures can reduce rolling resistance and the added air volume dramatically increases comfort and traction, just like suspension.

OMX SEATPOST
The D-shaped proprietary seatpost of the OMX frame aids aerodynamics as well as comfort. An internal battery plug tucks away a Di2 battery, and a rubber collar protects against the elements with a refined look.
The simple and secure clamp of the Orca seatpost is a proprietary design that allows adjustment of tilt to be made independently of saddle fore-aft position.
