The Legacy We Build Today

Our approach to sport is to support anyone who wants to practice it, without distinction, whoever they may be. From the most technical MTB disciplines to elite competition on the road or in gravel, we have stood alongside cyclists competing at the highest level and helping to redefine what is possible. Not as a one-off commitment, but as a conviction sustained over time.

Progress is not only about moving forward, but about choosing the right direction. Leaving a legacy means continuing to promote women’s talent today so that those who come after have more opportunities, more role models and a more open path. We want our footprint to be positive, lasting and consistent with the values we defend both on and off the race course.

Building from Within

That same conviction is also on display within the cooperative. In the context of March 8th, International Women’s Day, we want to highlight a reality that is part of our everyday life. Within these walls, a group of women has formed at Orbea, united by their passion for cycling and creating spaces where the sport is experienced naturally, with support and closeness. From casual conversations, an initiative was born to bring together those already practicing the sport and to create a meeting point for sharing experiences.

Real obstacles still exist: balancing family life and time management. There are also invisible barriers, such as the perception that cycling is a risky sport or that it is not something you can start on your own. Yet more and more voices are reminding us of something essential: there is no need to wait for the perfect moment or to feel one hundred percent ready to take the first step. Starting can simply mean asking questions, leaning on others and understanding that no one has to ride alone.

Role models can stand on a podium or be found right at hand: in the person who dares to ride out for the first time, in the one who signs up for a race, in the one who makes the bicycle part of her daily life. That proximity transforms perception and makes cycling shift from something distant to a tangible possibility.

Visibility This March 8

March 8th is a day to make things visible, but also to look ahead. To continue building a sport where every woman can take her place naturally, without asking permission and without having to demonstrate anything beyond her passion. Leaving a legacy is not only about winning races; it is about breaking the trail so that the next generation finds a smoother path, and ensuring that, one day, showing up is not a statement, but simply something natural.

Orbea Squad

Ane, Sandra, Irati… These are just some of the women who make up the Squad for now. But it is a group that continues to grow and keep its doors open to anyone who wants to join, share and keep pedaling together.
