Kaos & Rallon: Pushing Limits at Hardline
Credited as the hardest downhill race on Earth, Red Bull Hardline is a true test of rider skill and resilience a even making it to finals day is a challenge in itself.
“Red Bull Hardline is my all-time favourite race there is, you just cannot get that feeling Hardline creates at a race anywhere else on the planet.”
Speed + Style = Kaos Seagrave
Kaos Seagrave is flying the flag for Orbea FMD Racing – The Gravity Cooperative at this year’s event.
Not only does he have the speed, he also has the style that makes him a podium threat when it comes to races like this one.
His name on the start list is more than just about going against the clock.
Younger brother to Tahnée, Kaos has followed in his sister’s footsteps to become an incredible bike handler.
His results sheet proves this as any weekend can include winning a whip-off at Crankworx, mixing it with the best at a World Cup and taking a podium at the US Open as a ‘Freerider’.
There simply isn’t anything this guy can’t do on a bike.
Not your average downhill race
Hardline sets itself apart from World Cup downhill with the biggest jumps and largest drops any rider will face on a race track.
A mistake on any part of this track could see a rider have to deal with serious exposure and what the Welsh countryside has to offer.
This race is not just about being fast. Rider skill will be tested to the limit alongside their mental strength.
“I think how extreme the terrain is and the way the track is built just elevates it to such a gnarlier level that other tracks can even be like. In the dry it’s not actually too bad to ride but as soon it rains it just becomes insanely hard and technical…but still a lot of fun.”
Made for more
Kaos’s Rallon features a striking Metalic Cobalt Blue with Metalic Power Pink, a custom MyO finish that reflects his style and attention to detail.
More than just eye-catching, it’s a bold statement of confidence on one of the world’s toughest courses.
“My MyO colour theme for this year’s Hardline is matching what the DH team have been running for the races. It feels nice to be a part of the team and be able to race under the FMD banner, therefore I wanted my bike to match the race team as much as possible.”
With longer 450mm chainstays, the Rallon gains crucial stability for Hardline’s extreme terrain.
This added length keeps the bike planted at high speeds, smooth over big hits, and controlled on massive jumps key for pushing the limits with confidence.
“Thanks to the adjustability of the Rallon, I can choose how to set it up for the demands of each situation.”
The gauntlet is down. Kaos and his Rallon are ready to take on Red Bull Hardline.
We would like to thank the tireless work of the team staff and our partners who have put so much time and effort into allowing the riders to focus on what they do best.
From everyone at Orbea, congratulations to Orbea FMD Racing for another great World Cup.
