Introducing Orbea Foundation: Expanding Our Ability to Build a Better Future
Success only has meaning when it is shared. That idea has been part of Orbea since 1969, when our employees acquired the company and transformed it into a cooperative to build their own future. Since then, we have shown that cooperativism is much more than a business model. It is a way of growing, making decisions and building the future by putting people at the centre.
Over the years, we have also had the privilege of riding alongside the people who bring those values to life every day: cyclists, clubs, educational institutions, associations and organisations working to strengthen the communities we are part of.
Today, we take another step forward. We are proud to introduce Orbea Foundation, an organisation created to build on a commitment that has always been part of our history: driving projects and supporting initiatives that share our ambition to create a positive impact.
A Commitment That Continues to Grow
The foundation is the natural evolution of our journey. It enables us to dedicate more resources, strengthen partnerships and expand the impact we create together with people and organisations around the world.
Collaboration has always shaped the way we understand change. We know that the most meaningful transformations never happen alone. They emerge when people and organisations combine their strengths, share knowledge and work together with a long-term vision.
Five Areas of Action to Create Positive Impact
Our work focuses on five strategic areas that reflect who we are and respond to some of society’s greatest challenges:
Sustainable Mobility: We support projects that promote more sustainable, accessible and healthier mobility, helping reduce the environmental impact of travel and transform the way people move.
Sport and Wellbeing: We foster grassroots sport, the development and maintenance of trails, and initiatives that encourage healthier and more active communities.
Education, Economic Activity and Cooperativism: We advocate for education, entrepreneurship, research and the values of cooperativism as drivers of sustainable development.
Social Justice: We back projects that help build a more inclusive, equitable and cohesive society.
Cultural and Sporting Heritage: We support initiatives that preserve and promote cultural and sporting heritage, with a particular focus on Basque language and culture.

This marks the beginning of a new chapter. One that will give us more resources, greater capacity and stronger partnerships in support of everything we believe in.
