New Era

A new era is coming for the Orbea Factory Team. A transformation will mean the evolution of this project as we know it and will bring new and exciting challenges with it.

The OFT was born to bring you stories about a shared passion, a unique community that has connected hundreds of places through a common denominator: the bike.

From the trails of South Africa to the cobblestones of Roubaix and the dust of Strade Bianche, the Orbea Factory Team has put words, images and heart into the experiences they’ve lived. It’s a different kind of family with a different way of cycling.

Starting next year, the Orbea Factory Team will evolve. It will transform. And that work begins today with the recognition of the talent, professionalism and incredible effort from the four people who have been a core part of this project for many years.

Without Joaquim, Anton, Sandra and Virginia, this project would not have made sense. They are the epitome of Factory, from head to toe.

“Purito” Rodríguez, cycling genius

Joaquim “Purito” Rodríguez is a cycling legend. During the time that we’ve shared, he has left a track record of his class, his personality and his great sense of humor. He helped make the pandemic more bearable, and together with “Olivilla,” they have delighted people who love cycling by recounting their day-to-day lives through all kinds of races around the world.

One of those races is “La Purito Andorra,” a challenge that we will never miss, which you can watch a clip of below.

Our paths may separate, but everything we’ve experienced will always be cherished and remembered. You are great, Puri!

Anton Sintsov, pure technique on two wheels

Olympic talent on the bike and an amazing guy off the bike. Anton says goodbye after a wild year we’ve faced together: Chelva (Spain), Capoliveri (Italy), Ötztal (Austria), Costa Blanca Bike Race and Cape Epic together with Ibon Zugasti were just some of the challenges we faced.

Thank you so much for everything, Anton. See you on the trails!

Sandra Jordá, dedication and love for cycling

Sandra Jordá is the definition of the Orbea Factory Team: a multidisciplinary rider with a cult following for cycling and one who has represented the sport wonderfully during the four years she’s been with the brand. Sandra hangs up the Factory jersey, but she will continue to wear the Orbea colors as an ambassador of Spain. Thank you so much for the passion you’ve shared.

We’ll see you again soon at more events, Sandra!

Virginia Cancellieri, adventure in the heart of everything

Charisma, camaraderie and exploration define Virginia Cancellieri. By accompanying this Italian rider from the Orbea Factory Team, we have learned about new disciplines, such as ultra-distance, and we have achieved great feats together. Virginia will continue to pursue these adventures, engulfing herself in big pursuits and discovering new and unexplored places on our Terra within the Pachamama project, of which she’ll now be a part of.

Thanks for everything, Virginia!

While we’re closing this chapter, we’re very proud of the path we’ve traveled and excited about all that’s to come. After all, nothing is lost but everything is transformed.

Stay tuned to the team’s networks. We’ll announce great news about the new project soon!
