Orbea and FMD Racing Are United
Orbea and FMD Racing join forces to help us achieve our dream of having bikes and athletes at the pinnacle of downhill and freeride mountain biking. FMD Racing are a team steeped in the history of downhill, unique in their identity and capable of winning at the highest level. To succeed in downhill, you must master a technical track and beat both the clock and your rivals.
This new collaboration brings together Orbea’s 185 years history and experience across all the cycling disciplines and FMD Racing’s continued success at World Cup downhill, starting a new era as we look to take a step forward in both downhill and freeride with one of the World’s best gravity teams. We also welcome FMD Racing to The Gravity Cooperative that is home to all of our gravity athletes and teams.
We want to dominate each podium and set new benchmarks beyond racing through the collaboration with OOLAB to develop the bikes of the future, to identy and support the next generation of gravity athletes. Key to the real success of the partnership is a connection to the downhill community itself, the knowledge and passion of which will drive this project. We want fans to feel part of this journey.
Downhill mountain biking demands everything from rider and equipment. The fastest rider to get from start to finish wins. It’s not as simple as it sounds though. Rock, root, jumps, drops all need to be managed at speed before you factor in what the weather might have in store. FMD Racing are well-versed in these dark arts, having taken home plenty of silverware over the years. Together, we can fight for the fastest times, week in, week out, with our fans at the core.
Both Orbea and FMD Racing have a history of helping emerging talent become household names, and we look forward to fostering the next generation of freeride and downhill riders to become the new superstars.
