Ride for greatness

Once every four years, athletes from around the world meet to compete for greatness. During this celebration of sporting performance, dedicated athletes push themselves to their limits and compete with the best of the best. It is also an arena where riders set an example of solidarity and fair play, where there is no space for discrimination, and a celebration of the joy of competition unites everyone.

These values resonate with us at Orbea. We are the only major bike brand in the world which is a cooperative owned by our workers, and this creates solidarity and, we believe, helps create social equality. Our mission is to foster a fairer society for all, break barriers and empower the disadvantaged. We actively support organisations that champion social justice, inspire people to make bikes a part of their lives, and promote diversity. This year, we are proud to support riders from different teams, countries and disciplines as they take on the biggest challenges of their sporting careers.

Unique bikes for the city of light

If competition is where athletes can showcase their skills and training, it is also a place where we can show off our creativity. In this vibrant city the vibrant nightlife is lit by the glow of thousands of lights, however the nickname was coined because at the start of the 19th century, it was one of the first European cities to be lit at night. The name was further reinforced over the ages as it became famous as a centre for innovation and enlightenment.

The design of the Orca, Oiz, Orca Aero and Ordu model bikes, which will compete, take inspiration from this unique city. In this design, the cyclist becomes the fuel, the light. All this generated energy permeates through the bicycle, starting from the saddle and towards the front, filling the entire frame with energy and speed.

Orca

Praise the light. Our lightest road bike is designed to dominate the climbs.

Oiz

Always ready to fly, Oiz is our XC thoroughbred and is light and efficient enough for any race.

Orca Aero

Long live aero! Is there a competitor who doesn’t grasp every last advantage in the battle for speed?

Ordu

The ultimate speed machine. For those who aim to be the fastest, most efficient and decorated athletes, Ordu is the future.

This concept uses a distinctive combination of colours with gold (Metallic Gold) as the energy generated by the cyclist, pink (Cotton Pink) that expands through the frame and purple (Tanzanite Carbon View) that finishes towards the front of each bike representing the night. This design was fully developed and painted at the Orbea facilities in the Basque Country.

Who is racing?

We want our riders to be proud to show off their bikes as they compete and uphold the spirit of our sport.

Ride your way

If you ride bikes, you are an athlete; it doesn’t matter if you don’t compete. We hope that our athletes inspire you to get out and ride, to share your rides with other cyclists regardless of their backgrounds, and to remember that even if we share a common passion, we are all unique.
