The Great Perhaps of a New Tour
A nice sunshade, a big and juicy slice of watermelon, the race is on the radio and the eyes slowly give in to sleep. Summer happiness lies in those small rituals no matter how old you are. July and the Tour de France are the official start of the holidays, when you can feel in your gut the uncertainty of the great perhaps.
What will happen in the Tour this year? Will there be epic battles? How far can a human body go in pursuit of glory? Looking back, the Lotto team ended 2024 with major victories, including stage 18 of the Tour de France. Will we witness another unexpected feat on TV?
The only certainty is that over the next three weeks we will experience every possible emotion. The entire Lotto structure is in northern France, ready to put on a great show.
Orbea, More Than Design
The Tour is also a showcase for innovation and in France, the always-favored Orca Aero, the flawless Ordu and the revamped Orbea Orca won’t go unnoticed. The latter arrives at the big race with updated graphics and the OC integrated cockpit.
Every change has a purpose: less weight, more stiffness. Everything needed when the difference between victory and falling just short is measured in millimeters.
In this story, the silent protagonists will be the new OQUO Road Gen 2 wheels, which Lotto will debut in the Tour de France. The team has worked closely with OQUO to develop the wheels that reinforce our position as a global benchmark in high-performance wheels.
In this edition, the team will use all four wheels from the OQUO LTD range, each tailored to the demands of the stage and the style of each rider: RA80 LTD, RA57 LTD, RP50 LTD and RP35 LTD.
The Q10 hub, named Best Component of the Year at the 2025 Eurobike Awards, is a prime example. The hub requires no tools to disassemble and is therefore quick and easy to maintain, both for team mechanics or the average cyclist. It also counts with innovative technical solutions that deliver exceptional performance minimizing watt loss due to friction and is one of the lightest hubs on the market.
100% local production in the Basque Country shortens the supply chain and creates jobs in a region that breathes cycling.
The Tour is unpredictable. Each stage is a story of its own. Lotto might surprise us again. One of our bikes might cross another finish line first. With Orbea’s help, Lotto and its riders will push past human limits to make the crowds cheer with joy.
