Growing also means empowering from within

At Orbea, we approach work as a journey. A path built step by step, person by person, and one that only makes sense when lived as part of a shared project.

But we also know something important: for many people, that journey begins with an opportunity. In a context where access to employment, especially for young people, remains one of the major challenges in our society, creating opportunities is part of our responsibility as a cooperative. Opening the door, supporting those first steps, and offering a space where people can begin to grow.

Because to grow from within, you first need the chance to step in. Every year, many people join Orbea through training processes. They come to learn, to understand the project, and to start building their own professional path. But what could be a temporary stage often becomes something more.

In 2025, more than 60% of those who started this way are still with Orbea today. And that’s where the journey truly begins. We are a cooperative, and that means growth is not just about individual progress. It’s about moving forward as a collective: creating opportunities, sharing knowledge, and building spaces where each person can develop within the project.

Here, talent is not only brought in, but cultivated. And we do it from within. 66.7% of new opportunities at Orbea are filled by people who are already part of the organization. People who choose to take a step forward, move into new areas, or embrace new challenges, expanding their understanding of the whole.

Growth doesn’t happen on its own. It’s made possible by teams that support, leaders who trust, and a culture that understands development as something shared. And that changes everything. When someone grows from within, they don’t just evolve professionally. They connect realities, bring teams together, and gain a deeper understanding of the whole. Every role change is not just an individual move; it strengthens the project. Knowledge flows, experience is shared, and culture is carried forward.

More importantly, investing in internal talent means trust. It means giving continuity to that first step. It means clearly saying that the project also belongs to those who build it every day. That their development matters. That their journey has a place here. That continuity creates something that is difficult to measure, but easy to feel: commitment. A commitment that comes from knowing that the journey doesn’t end at the door. It can keep growing, evolving, transforming.

Today, on International Workers’ Day, we want to highlight exactly that. Not just the work that is done every day, but the model that makes it possible. A model based on training, trust, and real opportunities for development. Orbea is not only defined by the jobs it creates, but how it supports people throughout their journey.

From the first step… to everything that comes after. Because at Orbea, working is not just about contributing. It is also about having the opportunity to grow, and to do it together.
