Journey to the heart of the Himalayas
A mountain bike trip through the heart of the Himalayas
With the imposing Everest as a backdrop, Jaume, Dani, Marc and Pau embarked on an epic 15-day mountain bike adventure through the Sagarmatha National Park in Nepal. Their plan was clear: move as light as possible and explore the area’s most emblematic routes, testing their skills and endurance on the world’s most challenging terrain.
From day one, the trip was a true test of resistance and adventurous spirit. They traveled 308 km over 11 demanding stages, ascending a total of 17,400 meters and pushing the clock with more than 70 hours of continuous effort.
They faced setbacks that would test anyone: a canceled flight, an unexpected forest fire, flat tires, delays in obtaining permits for their mountain bikes, but also unforgettable encounters, from enlightening conversations with Buddhist monks to inspiring dialogues with 8,000-meter peak climbers and moving stories from local residents.
They explored remote corners on two wheels, traversed mountains never reached by bike, such as Renjo La Pass, more than 5,360 meters above sea level. In Gokyo, they found the ultimate expression of paradise and the reason that people trek to Everest Base Camp and the Three Passes.
They rode steep trails and faced seemingly endless climbs, followed by dizzying descents that tested their adrenaline and skill. But despite the challenges, the sublime beauty of the landscapes through which they pedaled motivated them to keep going.
With each pedal stroke, their connection with nature intensified and brought them closer to achieving their personal goals. This journey not only pushed their physical limits, but also opened up a world of previously impossible possibilities.
A team united by passion
The shared experience, mutual support and camaraderie forged between them were essential for overcoming obstacles and savoring the adventure.
