Mikel Aristi, second in the classic Per Sempre Alfredo

Mikel Aristi came very close to earning a first place victory with the Euskaltel-Euskadi in the classic Per Sempre Alfredo. The race traveled 162 km of roads in Tuscany, Italy, with Italian Matteo Moschetti (Trek-Segafredo) winning the sprint.

A small group of cyclists kept the race close; together, the orange squad and Mikel managed to keep Antonio Angulo and Xabier Mikel Azparren in the pack.

“The day started badly, but thanks to teamwork and the fact that we are very close, I earned second place, which I am personally very happy with,” says Mikel, expressing his satisfaction with the group’s performance.
