Nice beginning of the World Cup for Orbea Factory Team

The UCI MTB series kicked off in the picturesque landscapes of Brazil: Mairipora and Araxá. Surrounded by lush greens and terracotta hues, along with exotic wildlife, the Orbea Factory Team showcased their ambition for the podium. And they did just that, with Chiara Teocchi securing the team’s first podium.

Despite the format change, our riders faced the challenge of competing two days in a row with determination, starting with the explosive Short Track race. Twenty minutes of pushing the limits of lactate and feeling the adrenaline pulsing through their veins. The next day, they tackled the Olympic distance. Here, victory isn’t always for the fastest, but for those who craft the smartest strategy, dodging obstacles and overcoming falls.

Chiara’s podium achievement in the XCO race in Mairipora, where she secured fourth place in a race where the start and strategy were crucial, highlights her skill and determination. However, her battle in Araxá was interrupted by a fall that left her sore.

Luca came close to the podium in both races, demonstrating his relentless pursuit of glory.

On the other hand, Anne and Pierre, two consistent riders who always make their presence felt, raise high expectations for us this year. We trust they will put on a great show at the championship.

For David Campos, the Short Track in Araxá was an exciting experience, marking the end of an era as he raced for the last time wearing the European Champion jersey. Will he be able to defend his title?

We bid farewell to Brazil with our minds set on the next World Cup in the Czech Republic, excited for what’s to come.
