Orca and Rallon end 2017 in a big way

2017 was a memorable year for Orbea: the trust you have placed in our bicycles has enabled us to continue to grow and has opened the doors for us to a very exciting 2018.We also close the year with overwhelming reviews for some of our star models, such as the Orca, Rallon and Gain.

The prestigious U.S. magazine Velonews launched on its website: The author of the article, Dan Cavallari, defines Orca as “a quintessential all-around race bike, yet it avoids some of the common pitfalls of this notoriously nervous category. (…) It strikes the right balance between light weight, stiffness, and exceptional handling, all within an attractive package with classic lines and heaps of modern technology”. The review ends with a resounding phrase: We would count this as one of the best bikes of the year without hesitation”.

Rallon, well-positioned in Bike USA’s Bible

For the ninth year in a row, Bike USA has launched its “Bible of Bike Tests”: all its testers come together for two weeks on the impressive trails of Michigan's Upper Peninsula to test the best Trail and All-Mountain bikes from the leading brands.

This year, Rallon held a very prestigious position in this “Bible”: in this video from Bike’s YouTube channel you can see their impressions of our enduro model:

In the “Bible of Bike Tests”, Rallon is described as “an enduro weapon that feels at home on the local trail loop. It’s poppy and playful at speeds slower than a bike this big should be, but handles the steeps with ease. The Rallon is great everywhere, not just when things get vertical”.There is even more praise for our enduro bike in the online edition of the magazine.

The Rallon has also impressed Bike’s journalist Mike Ferrentino, who made it his final choice in the “Final Say” section, in which the testers have to choose only one out of all the bicycles tested for the publication.

Gain: “Truly a revolution”

The Gain already surprised journalists from around the world at its international presentation, and during the month of December it was tested in-depth by the German magazine Granfondo:“The Orbea Gain is truly a revolution in road bikes”, points out Robin Schmitt, who goes on to add, : “The well designed and clever integration is neat, the handling is good despite the uneven weight distribution of the bike, and most importantly it’s affordable”.

In other news, the Katu, our most versatile e-bike, was chosen as one of the five best products of the year by Jack Luke, tester at Bike Radar.

Orbea & Vital Concept: the most exciting project

Our commitment to the team led by Bryan Coquard has received great attention in numerous publications around the world. The announcement of our partnership with the Vital Concept Cycling Club was picked up by media sources such as Endurance Business, Cicloweb and Peloton, which also interviewed Bryan Coquard to find out his expectations for this new and exciting season.
